Created for the space at Palette SF, My Eyes Are Bigger blurs several modes of perception, melding printmaking, sculpture and installation.
This work considers facets of perception and the interplay between seeing and being seen. Disembodied images of human eyes taken from Google Images escape from off the gallery wall and onto a living, moving being. The curved planes of glass alter vision and blur the boundaries between the self and the surrounding environment. The compound glass lens marks an inquiry of the mysteries of nonhuman perception. The installation encourages a deviant perspective of our position as both viewer and visible object.
