Streetview installation at the Frank-Ratchye Project Space, Root Division, San Francisco, CA February 2016 3'x13'
Google Street View paper photo collage on Tyvek, convex mirror
Working as a collector, I scoured Google Street View in the Outer Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. I see digital maps as deeply intimate portrayals of our world in our time. Machine landscapes act as public spaces that mirror our own realities, giving us a distorted sense of self and space. Like our physical environments, these landscapes influence the way we interact with each other and how we both perceive and experience ourselves in the world.
